MDB

MDB is an author, mentor, musician, artist, producer, and founder of Melodik Rukus, a creative platform dedicated to using music, storytelling, and media to inspire faith, purpose, and positive community impact. Through years of mentoring young people and serving in community-based programs, he has witnessed firsthand the challenges many youths face and the life-changing difference one committed mentor can make.

Those experiences became the foundation for his debut novel, Da Church House, a contemporary Christian story that explores redemption, mentorship, music, and second chances. Set in a struggling community, the novel follows Jermaine Daniels as he transforms an abandoned church into a place where young people can discover hope, healing, and purpose before the streets define their future.

Beyond writing, MDB is passionate about equipping churches, organizations, artists, and community leaders to use their gifts to serve others. He is also developing the Christian Artist Coalition, an initiative focused on connecting, supporting, and strengthening Christian creatives through collaboration, education, and ministry.

Whether through books, music, speaking, or mentorship, MDB's mission is to create stories and opportunities that encourage people to grow in faith, invest in the next generation, and leave a lasting legacy in their communities.

MUSIC

MDB has been active in the music industry for 20+ years. That includes years of experience as a gospel musician, to years of experience in his own gospel rap career, and to the structure and development of other artists and creatives. In 2020 MDB expanded his music and media ministry Melodik Rukus to Liberia where he and partner K. Will launched the newest branch of MR. LLC (Liberia Lion Connection) serves as not only a powerful Christian music entity, but also a ministry tool helping to reach and touch the lives of many youths in Liberia. MDB is currently passionate about producing and developing young talent, which is the aim of his current collaborative effort “Da Church House Soundtrack”.

Evangelism

When it comes to purpose MDB understands that we all have been given gifts and spiritual missions to work towards. MDB discovered a love and passion for teaching and evangelism that has helped take him places he never imagined. From doing Mission trips to places like Monrovia, and Nicaragua to doing a bible study series on YouTube called Str8 Word… MDB’s mission has been to fulfill the purpose God has given him while he has time on this earth! Using technology in a creative way just opens the door to do so more as he has found new ways to do Online Evangelism in even more places like Pakistan and more!

EXPERIENCE

MENTORING

MDB has a passion for working with young individuals and has been doing so consistently since around 2004 when he began to volunteer as a student himself. MDB has experience with working in school systems, facilitating and creating after school programs, alternative school and juvenile camps, as well as over 2 yrs of experience as a Credible Messenger working with youth in the Department of Juvenile Justice. In years of experience MDB has learned how to facilitate and create programing that is relatable and impactful for the youth by teaching them life changing skills in creative and hands on ways. One method he sees benefit in using is putting his own gifts and passions to use when helping the youth learn how to discover their own!

Da Church House Synopsis

Da Church House is the story of redemption, resilience, and the healing power of music.

When Jermaine Daniels—once a troubled kid with a gift for rhythm—returns to his late grandfather’s abandoned church, he sees more than broken pews and boarded windows. He sees possibility. Determined to give back what he never had, Jermaine launches a bold experiment: a music therapy program for at-risk youth in the very space that once sheltered him.

A group of teens from the neighborhood step through the church doors, each carrying their own battles—anger, silence, grief, doubt, and the weight of survival. Inside the cracked walls of the sanctuary, beats and scripture collide, and trust is rebuilt one session at a time. But when the streets push back and tragedy strikes, the group must decide if this vision is worth fighting for—or if Da Church House will remain just another forgotten relic of the city.
